Achieving GamerScore has been rather one-dimensional - do this, get points. Rinse, repeat.
Sure, you've played a lot of games by now, but how many actually took real respectful effort? Recently, we added indicators that gave an at-a-glance view of whether you were ahead or behind the curve based on the Community's average GamerScore. While this is a great way to see what games you might want to work on, it didn't really help define priorities for your next Achievement attempts. Similarly, simply showing that you were above the average didn't highlight your greatest efforts or let you feel satisfaction in your Achievement-grabbing. MGC has changed this by implementing a new 'Effort' filter on our Profiles! By selecting this sort method, you can quickly get a list of your games, ordered by how proud you should be for your efforts. For me, as you can see, the BK Promotional game Big Bumpin is my greatest gaming exploit (is that bad?), representing a near-500% gain over the rest of the community. It also works in reverse. Simply select 'Effort (Worst - Best)' to give you a hint as to what games you should pull up your score in. The great thing about this list is that it allows other people to really see how much work you've put into your points. Boosting your score with games like Avatar? With so many people grabbing the easy points, having a full 1000 GamerScore is only 4% over the average, and isn't worth very much 'gamer cred'. I've already used this myself! For me, I had zero GamerScore in Fight Night Round 3 until I saw that the average was about 570 GamerScore, making it my most embarrassing entry on my Profile. I spent some time this weekend correcting this issue, and look forward to gaining some additional Achievements in the EA Sports title in the coming days. Check out the Efforts on your MGC Profile and come share your greatest gaming Acheivements! |

so, should I be proud of that 781% overachievement in Pimp My Ride, or just embarassed to say I actually played that game for that length of time.

Sweet Bejebus that was fast. (IMG:http://forums.mygamercard.net/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)
This will be so awesome! I'm already using it and see that some of my worse offenders are games that have been put in, but not played for more than a few minutes (and some random arcade games I haven't played much). I was happy to see that I'm 37 over 27 under though. (IMG:http://forums.mygamercard.net/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) My crowning Overachievement would be Eternal Sonata at 1265.56%. (IMG:http://forums.mygamercard.net/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) This is very cool and I'm glad you were able to get it up and running so fast. Well done. I looked, out of my 76 games played I am 63 over and 13 under. I am 1 point unter even in Rock band so I could just play a bit tomorrow and probably bump that up. A lot of the games I am under in were rentals, or games I will never be good at. I guess I could actually play the campaign in COD3 and get some of those. I got that the same approximate time as Gears, and I didn't really play it but a handful of times. After that it is just getting a higher percent. Anyway to turn this into an overall thing? Like add up the score for all the games, then add up the average scores for all the games and determine your overall position like that? |

PDZ: 606% Overachievement
NASCAR 08: 476% Overachievement Not sure if it's actually worth being proud about given how little people play them (IMG:http://forums.mygamercard.net/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) |

Dubious? Your GamerScore in Rapala is 788% above the average, which if you look underneath that figure, is only 70 points. Looks pretty accurate to me. (IMG:http://forums.mygamercard.net/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Big Bumpin: 1120.41% Overachievement
Um...yeah I was hoping Prince of Persia would be up there, but I'm just at 171.82% on that one. Just under GH3 @ 176.38%. Not too shabby... At the bottom I have Def Jam (100% under (IMG:http://forums.mygamercard.net/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) and Gun @ 88.68% Under. I really need to play Gun... Anyhoo, great new addition! Way to go, Morgon! |

Anyway to turn this into an overall thing? Like add up the score for all the games, then add up the average scores for all the games and determine your overall position like that? Well the only problem with that would be that Morgon was kind enough to draw the line at 100% Underachievement so unless that went fully accurate it would never be quite true (plus and 0 point games would be non-measurable that way). Though I do think it would be interesting to see our overall Over/Under achievement position. Though wouldn't that basically be the Completion% leaderboard by then? |

Not necessarily - if you have one game and it's Avatar, your Completion Percentage is 100% (but note your adjusted score would still only be 1000 which is why you wouldn't be on top of the Completion Leaderboard).
By contrast, your Overachievement score would be only 4%. I think it would be slightly different. Worth looking into. |

Totally awesome! I noticed the arrows a while back, so I've been going back to try to get them all green. Right now I'm 42 above and 9 below.
I can't believe I'm 687.88% over for Bomberman Act:ZERO. I can't believe I played it for as long as I did, that game is awesome. |
